My Story

For much of my career, I have been interested in exploring one question:
What helps people move from knowing to doing?

We know a great deal about ourselves, about what matters to us, and often even about what we need to change. Yet knowing is rarely enough. Life is complicated. Expectations, responsibilities, uncertainty, habits, and competing priorities can make it surprisingly difficult to act on what we know, or even to recognize what we know in the first place.

This question has been a thread throughout my professional life.

As a researcher, I studied how people grow, what supports healthy development and learning, and how change happens in programs and systems. I translated this research into training, tools, and resources designed to help educators, leaders, and organizations turn knowledge into meaningful action and improve their practices and systems to better serve young people.

I have also worked directly with hundreds of people, as a psychologist, organizational leader, mentor, and coach, supporting them as they navigated complex challenges, developed new ways of thinking, and grew their skills, leadership and impact.

Over time, I came to see that some of the most important changes happen not when we acquire more information, but when we work together and find new solutions we would not have come up with on our own.

Why I became a coach

I became a coach because I love that space between where someone is and where they want to go.
There is something energizing to me about sitting with another person as they explore a possibility, untangle something that has become unclear, recognize a strength they have overlooked, or begin to imagine a future that feels more like their own.

My role isn't to tell you who to become or give you a formula for getting there.

Instead, I create a thoughtful, supportive space where you can slow down, quiet some of the noise, look beneath the surface, and hear yourself more clearly. Together, we will explore your experiences, strengths, values, limiting beliefs, hopes, and possibilities, and then translate that deeper understanding into meaningful action.

The science behind the work

My coaching is grounded in the science of human development and informed by a holistic view of the person.

I draw on decades of studying how people, programs, and systems learn, develop and change, along with training in psychology, neuroscience, and ancient wisdom traditions. This holistic approach applied to coaching simply means that all of you is included in the conversation, not just your goals and behaviors, but your body wisdom, emotions, values, and your sense of meaning and purpose. Human beings are not just cognitive goal-setters. We are complex, relational creatures, with unique life circumstances.

This means there is no one right way.

What works for one person may not work for another. Your history, circumstances, strengths, and aspirations matter. Coaching is an opportunity to discover what is true for you rather than simply following someone else's version of what you should do.
